Day of Apostle ANDREW the First-Called
Divine Liturgy. December 13, 2014
On Saturday, December 13, our parish solemnly celebrated
our Patronal Feast, the day of St. Andrew the
First-Called Apostle. Our pastor was joined in concelebration by:
Archpriest Serge Lukianov, Dean of St. Alexander Nevsky Cathedral in
Lakewood, N.J., Secretary of the Eastern American Diocese of the Russian
Orthodox Church Abroad (ROCOR); Archimandrite Christopher (Rumanian
Orthodox Church); Archpriest Liubo Milosevich, pastor of Holy Trinity
Russian Orthodox Church in Vineland, N.J.(ROCOR);
Archpriest Nikolai Buga, pastor of Holy Trinity Rumanian Orthodox Church
in Philadelphia; Archpriest Milorad Orlic, pastor of St. Nicholas
Serbian Orthoodox Church in Elkins Park, Pa.; Archpriest Gregory Winsky,
assistant pastor of St. Michael’s Church (Patriarchal Parishes) in
Philadelphia; Priest Alexander Tsygankov, assistant pastor of our
Church; Priest Valery Sukholobov, pastor of the Church of Our Lady
(ROCOR) in Philadelphia; Protodeacon Leonid Roschko of St. Alexander
Nevsky Church (ROCOR) in Lakewood, N.J.
A large array of fresh flowers gave our church a
festive appearance. A peaceful and prayerful mood
inspired both clergy and laity. At the end of the Divine Liturgy,
Archpriest Serge Lukianov congratulated all on the feast day.
Representatives of the Russian Navy from the Embassy of the Russian
Federation in Washington D.C. joined us for St. Andrew’s Day: Military
Attache, Colonel Pavel Aleksandrovich Terkin and Assistant Military
Attache, Captain 3rd rank Ilya Vasilievich Vitko. They came with their
wives and children. After the Liturgy, our Holy Dormition Sisterhood
invited everyone to a delicious and plentiful festal (Lenten) dinner.
